VISUALIZATIONS
VISUALIZATIONS
My undergraduate degree in advertising opened my eyes to properly displaying information for different populations. I strive to make my visualizations accessible to all and easy to understand. My goal is that any reader can understand what I'm trying to show in one visualization within seconds of seeing it, regardless of how complex the information is. Most of my experience with visualizations utilizes RMarkdown, PowerPoint, Tableau, InDesign, and Datawrapper.
I am particularly adept at making effective, clear, aesthetically pleasing presentations that will neither overwhelm nor confuse the audience. I am most eager about helping people create code for reports to help in the efficiency, accuracy, and display of information.
As a note, some of the visualizations have been updated since leaving organizations, but the general construction of the website or dashboards are largely based on my work, unless noted otherwise. All images are clickable and will take you to the live, outside links of the work.
Using R markdown, I created code to create state fact sheets on mental health. Using the code, we could easily update the data, hit run, and it would produce 51 (including DC) fact sheets. Code was created to follow the KFF template, create figures, and adjust text where needed. This increased productivity, lessened the chances for human error, and saved on months of work for KFF.
